Includes two letters from Sir Francis Forbes, Chief Justice of New South Wales, and documents relating to John Gurner's appointment as Register of the Court of Vice Admiralty, May 1840. Also, a transcript of proceedings relating to his admission to practice as a solicitor, October 1840, and articles of partnership between William Minithorpe and John Gurner, 1 January 1841.

Charles Reeve and eleven other members of the Industrial Workers of the World were tried for conspiracy, 1916. In 1918 following charges by P. Brookfield, E.E. Judd and T.D. Mutch, a Royal Commission was set up to enquire into charges concerning the conduct of some members of the Police Force in this case.
